‘Affinity’ dog grooming opened in 2006, on the A28 Chilham road. It is one of few grooming businesses in this area that operates on a one-to-one basis. This means it is great for nervous dogs, or dogs that are not comfortable around others. I work on an appointment only basis, so every dog has individual care and attention. I am able however to have two dogs in at a time if they are from the same family, as one can mooch around the room or lay on a comfy bed, whilst I work on the other.

All breeds are welcome as I have had a bath built specifically to accommodate large dogs, as well as the tiny tots. The shampoos I use are all natural and include aloe vera and jasmine for very sensitive or sore skin, and castor oil shampoo for normal use along with many others for different types of coat.
If your dog is wire coated and has that rough feel to it, then hand-stripping is available, rather than clipping, as this will keep the coat texture as it should be. It doesn’t hurt I promise! Ask for more information when you call for an appointment.

On offer at ‘Affinity’ is nail trimming, brushing, bathing, hand-stripping and micro-chipping. There is also a selection of collars, leads, toys and natural shampoos for sale. Coming soon will be aromatherapy oils for your dog. To help with aches, pains and anxiety.

Last but not least, don’t forget the micro-chips. It is essential that you get your dog micro- chipped or tattooed to deter thieves and help get your dog back should it become lost or escape. It is a simple procedure, just like their injections, but gives you the piece of mind that if you lose your dog, you are likely to get it back.
